CLOSE THE GAP

CLOSE THE GAP

To mark Mothers’ Day last Sunday, this week Giles and I have posted a series of articles on the Wonder Women in our book who are mothers and the benefits that parenting brings to their careers.  They’re still available to read via the following links:

THREE WAYS IN WHICH BECOMING A MOTHER MADE ME A BETTER MARKETING LEADER

MOTHERHOOD AND MY JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY

We’d like to end the week by bringing your attention to a study recently conducted by The Female Lead, which revealed that social conditioning means that women feel less deserving that men, creating a gap of entitlement that is directly impacting women’s careers.

It does not mean that women are less ambitious or skilled.  It means that historic societal expectations, family mental load and opaque corporate systems make it harder for women to rise to the top.

The Female Lead has called this the ‘Entitlement Gap’ and they are campaigning to close it.

Here’s a link to a short video which explains this Entitlement Gap

You can read a summary or their full report on The Female Lead website
