It’s important that we help women to be more confident and stand up for themselves

Giles and Katy have loved the opportunity this book gives us to shine a light on the careers of so many incredible women in the industry – and we’re especially proud to include women from our Millennial generation.

One of these is Rebecca Lury.

Rebecca’s career in PR spans a decade providing strategy policy, public affairs and communications support for clients in a range of sectors. She was shortlisted as Public Affairs Consultant of the Year in December 2014 and is currently a partner at Pagefield. Alongside her day job, she is Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Equalities and Communities in Southward Coucil, where she has been a Councillor since 2012.

In our interview we discussed the challenges of working in an industry that is overwhelmingly male, learning how to fight your corner, the leadership qualities in women, what women need to do to succeed, and how the ‘lad’ drinking culture still exists.

You can read excerpts from Rebecca’s interview in Wonder Women : Inspiring Stories and Insightful Interviews with Women in Marketing.
